Reach4Reality

Reach4Reality was set up in 2013 to work with young people (aged 9-18) from the Highlands who have a social communication difficulty such as autistic spectrum disorder or a related condition. This will be through a planned series of outdoor pursuits activities tailored to each young person’s individual needs. Activities include home visits to develop relationships, half days out, days out and small group outdoor activity weekend residentials at local outdoor pursuits centres. On activities the young people will be accompanied and supported on a 1:1 ratio by a team of carefully selected and trained volunteers.

From tomorrow it will be mandatory to wear face coverings in shops in Scotland. There is however an exemption for disabled people including autistic people who are unable to wear one or find it too distressing. You might want to download our Autism Alert Card which you can show. It has been approved by both the Scottish Government and Police Scotland. Download here: https://www.autism.org.uk/services/helplines/coronavirus/resources/how-nas-can-help.aspx

The main reason we are offering the Parenting Course that started this week is depicted very well below. We wanted to offer better support to the parents of the young people we work with.
