Reach4Reality are seeking a:

DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD

DEVELOPMENT/CO-ORDINATOR
 

Reach4Reality works with young people and young adults from across the highlands involving them in outdoor activities tailored to their individual needs.

As part of this we have been running the DofE Award Scheme for a small number of the young people and adults that we work with. We have recently been granted a grant from the National Lottery Fund to employ a DofE Development/Coordinator to extend and develop this opportunity for a greater number of participants.

The post would be initially for 1 year with the potential of an extension depending upon the availability of ongoing funding. The post would be to start as soon as possible once all PVG and reference checks have been made.

Key aspects of role

Development and oversight of Reach4Reality’s DofE programme- registration, planning, delivery, support to participants and liaison with external providers, DofE Manager and leaders. 

Experience:

·      No previous DofE experience required except willingness to learn and undertake some elements of DofE training. This is provided free by the DofE. 

·      Experience of working (voluntary or paid) with young people or adults with a social communication difficulty

·      Interest in outdoors and working with children 


Terms and Conditions
:  

·      £13.20 per hour = £10,296 pa 

·      Initially a maximum of 780 hours per annum [flexible to suit the person and in line with the requirements of the scheme over the course of the year] 

·      PVG clearance/membership is required for both children and vulnerable adults


Key responsibilities
:

·      Point of contact within Reach4Reality for parents and participants

·      Supporting current participants to complete each section of their Awards and progress onto the next level if desired

·      Recruitment of new participants

·      Recording of evidence onto the  eDofE system and supporting participants to record evidence 

·      Liaison with other Reach4Reality DofE leaders and Manager as required
